PATTERN THRESHER FESTIVAL: At the AGM of the Thresher Group, held in the
White Sands Hotel, last Thursday, the following officers were elected to
implement the programme of activities designed to celebrate our local
traditions during the Pattern weekend.

President: Daniel ‘Sonny’ O’Halloran; Chairperson: Joe O’Sullivan;
Vice-chairperson: Liam O’Mahony; Treasurer: Mary Foran-O’Halloran; Rúnaí:
Micheál Ó hAllmhuráin; Assistant-Secretary: Mary Duggan-O’Halloran, PRO:
Tom Lawlor.

Thanks was expressed to everyone who helped to make last year’s Schedule of
Events so enjoyable.

As this year is designated as Bliain na Gaeilge by the present government,
it being the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Gaelic League, the
cultural organisation that became one of the main motivating forces which
ushered in our era of national self-determination, The Group is planning
to hold a Special Event to honour all those who strove so hard to hold the
Annual Aeríocht as community cultural and sporting event in the 40s, 50s
and early 60s.

With many sources being harnessed it is fondly hoped that this Event will
release the creating potential of our region in an imaginative way.
Thanking you.
