Ballyheigue Notes 11/06/19

*Death:* The death has occurred of Denis (Denny) Lawlor, 30 Sraid Thaidhg,
Ballyheigue and formerly of Bouleenshere, Ballyheigue, Co. Kerry. Reposed
on Monday evening at Hartnetts Funeral Home. Requiem mass took place on
Tuesday 4th June at 12 noon in St. Mary’s Church, Ballyheigue and burial
afterwards in St. James Old Cemetary, Ballyheigue.

MAY HE REST IN PEACE Sadly, missed by his loving family, Mary Ann
(deceased), John, Alice Tess, Kathleen (deceased), Bridie (deceased),
Hanna, Maurice (deceased), Tom, James, Eileen (deceased) and Dora, Brothers
in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews,
relatives and friends.

*Coursing Lotto:* The Following numbers were drawn on Monday 3rd June in
Ballyheigue and District Coursing Lotto The Jackpot was not won.
The €50 was J.J O Mahony c/o Maurice. The €25 winners were Claire James c/o
John B, Joan Carroll c/o Costcutter, Victoria Coches c/o Maurice. Next
week’s Jackpot is €12000.

*GAA Poc Fada:* Well Done to Daniel O Loughlin who came second in Poc Fada
County Final Competition which held at Kerryhead Course on Bank Holiday

*Fixtures:* County Senior Hurling Div 2 Ballyheigue ‘B’ vs Kilgarvan this
Wednesday evening at John Joe O Suillvan Park 7.15pm. U12 County Hurling
League Phase 2 starting this Friday evening Fixtures to be confirmed. North
Kerry Under 10 Hurling Blitz 1 Saturday, 15 June at Abbeydorney commencing
at 10.00a.m. Munster Poc Fada finals take place on Kerryhead Course on this
Saturday 15th June at 11am.

*Feile:* What a great weekend for Underage Hurling with the hosting Feile
na Gaeil 2019. Ballyheigue welcomed Carrick Hurling Club Leitrim on Friday
evening. Ballyheigue lost to Kinnity/Lusmagh in there second game they had
great win over Abbeydorney. On Saturday morning they had great win over
Carrick Hurling Club. They then traveled to Cloughduv in Cork to play
Qtr-Finals of Cup vs Caslebar Mitchels Mayo where they lost. They did the
Club proud. Overall, it was tremendous weekend. All the players and our
guests from Leitrim had a wonderful time.

*GAA Lotto:* The following numbers were drawn at last Sundays GAA Lotto The Jackpot of €11,200 was not won. Next week Jackpot will be
€11,250. The two €50 winners were Delia Casey Cliff Road, Noreen Griffin
Caherulla. The €25 winner was J.P Fitzgearld Bouleenshere.

*Ballyheigue Community Centre:* Bingo every Thursday evening at 8.30pm.
Some new games introduced. Everyone Welcome

*Cliona Hagan:* Tickets now available from Community Centre for Cliona
Hagan’s Concert which takes place on Friday 2nd August at 8pm.Unreserved
seating. Tickets €20.

*Campa Ógras Bhaile Uí Thaidhg: *An Ógras Summer Camp will take place at
Ballyheigue Community Centre from 29 July to 2 August. This will give
children aged 7 to 12 an opportunity to practise their Irish through sport,
games, art and music and will also include a trip to the Gaeltacht. Cost
€55 for first child and €50 for second. Numbers limited. Further details

*Wedding Anniversaries:* This year’s celebration of significant Wedding
Anniversaries takes place at Vigil Mass next Saturday night.

*St. Brendan’s A.C.*

Well done to club athlete Aaron Horgan who set a new age category & course
record at Tralee junior parkrun last Sunday. Congratulations to
Ballyheigue club athletes, Ben O Connor, Dylan McEvoy, Max Fitzgerald,
Kevin Horgan, Rory O Halloran and Aaron Horgan who competed in Day 1 of the
County Athletics Championships last weekend in the An Ríocht Athletic
Track, Castleisland. Day 2 will be held this Sunday and these athletes
will once again be back in action and will be competing in Middle
Distances, Javelin, High Jump, Power Walking and Relays. The Primary
School Sports Area Final will be held on Wednesday, 22nd May starting at 6
p.m. sharp in An Fearann Sportsfield. Qualifiers from the area final go to
the County Final which will be held in the An Ríocht A.C. track on
Wednesday, 12th June at 6 p.m. sharp. Training continues Monday evening
from 7 to 8 p.m. for u12 to masters while all juveniles will train on
Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Both Monday and Wednesday
evening training will be held in An Fearann Sportsfield. Thursday evening
will see the Masters train from 7 to 8 p.m. and meet in Ardfert. Please see
