*Ballyheigue Notes 2nd July*

*Coursing Lotto: *The Following numbers were drawn on Monday 24th June in
the Ballyheigue and District Coursing Club Lotto The Jackpot
was not won. The €50 winner was Robyn Madden c/o Christina. The €25 winners
were Kathleen Corridon c/o White Sands, Cleo Hayes c/o Christina and Ann
Marie Dineen c/o Christina. Next Week Jackpot will be €12,150.

*Death:* The death has occurred of Mr. Séan O’Halloran, Heirhill,
Ballyheigue, reposed on Thursday evening the 27th June at his home in
Heirhill, Ballyheigue Requiem Mass took place on Friday 28th June in St.
Mary’s Church, Ballyheigue with burial afterwards to the Holy Family

Sadly, missed by his loving family: Loving wife Cáit, Sons Micheal and John
and the late James Oliver. Daughters in law Marie and Maíre. Grandchildren
Shane, Sarah, Oliver, Eric and Cillian, Brother Micheal,{predeceased by his
brother Joe}, sisters Hannah and Maureen, brothers and sisters in law,
nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

*GAA Senior*: The Senior Hurlers were defeated by Crotta in Div 1 County
Senior Hurling League. Score Ballyheigue 2-12 Crotta 3-17. U14: The U14
hurlers defeated Causeway in North Kerry Hurling League. U12: The U12
hurlers were defeated by St Brendans in Div 2 County Hurling League last
Friday evening.

*Celtic Challenge Minor Hurling Division 2 Final:* Well done Kerry Minors
on outstanding victory over Dublin Clarkes on Score Kerry 5-16 to Dublin
Clarkes 3-15. Ballyheigue were represented by Nathan Guerin, Colin Walsh
Conor O’Sullivan, Graham Slattery, David O’Mahony, Séamie Foran and Tomas
Gaynor. John Healy is part of Team Management

*GAA Lotto:* The following numbers were drawn on last Sundays GAA Lotto The Jackpot of €11,350 was not won. The two €50 winners were
Mark Stack Bouleenshere and Mary O Regan c/o Mary Casey. The €25 winner was

*Ballyheigue Community Centre:*

*Grease Lightning:* Our summer musical Grease lightning directed by Joe
Burkett is taking to the community centre stage on Friday July 5th at 3pm
and 7pm. Tickets are available from the community centre and through our
website and Facebook.

*Cliona Hagan:* Tickets now available from the Community Centre for Cliona
Hagan’s concert which takes place on Friday August 2nd at 8pm. Unreserved
seating. Tickets €2

*Pattern Thresher:*

At the AGM of the Thresher Group the following were assigned these
positions: Joe O’Sullivan, chairperson; Liam O’Mahony, vice-chairperson;
Mary Foran-O’Halloran, treasurer; Micheál Ó hAllmhuráin, secretary; Mary
Duggan-O’Halloran, assistant secretary; Tom Lawlor, PRO.

The committee discussed the good vibe which was created by the last year’s
Pattern Thresher and thanked all who participated to make it such a
successful pivotal seasonal event for the good of our parish and regional
community and culture.

Arrangements are being made for this year’s Event, which will be held in
the White Sands Hotel on the 7th September, with the co-operation of Mr.
Jimmy Browne. The Diaspora Aspect which be integrated into the night’s
celebrations in order to streamline proceedings. The Group wishes to thank
everyone who supported the recent promotional collection in aid of their

*St Brendans AC *

Congratulations to club athlete Matthew O Sullivan (representing
Ballyheigue Community Games) who won a bronze medal in the u12 200m and
Long Puck at the Kerry Community Games Final recently. Well done to Katie
Butler, Ben O Connor, Dylan McEvoy, Kevin Horgan and Eric O Sullivan (all
from Ballyheigue CG) who also competed in various events. Congratulations
to Ben O Connor who won a silver medal at the u10 500m in the Munster “B”
Championships in Ennis last Sunday and well done to Kevin Horgan and
Matthew O Sullivan who also competed but were outside the medals. Master
athletes from Ballyheigue ran in the Kilmoyley Miler 10k & 5k last Sunday.
Well done to Irene Butler, Maggie Carlin, Moira Horgan and David Butler.
Training continues Monday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. for masters while
training for non-competitive juveniles has now ceased for the summer break
and will recommence in September. Masters long run training is currently
being organised for members who will be running in upcoming half
marathons/marathons. Please contact Ursula if you would like to be kept

is held every Saturday and Sunday morning respectively. Please check out for all locations and maybe you might visit one if touring this

Save the date: The 10th Anniversary Banna 10k Run, which also incorporates
a 5k and children’s 2k fun run will be held on Sunday, 4th August at 9:30
