Kerry Community Transport Ltd (KCT) provides community bus services
throughout Kerry. All services are semi- flexible and can deviate up to 2
miles to collect customers at their own doors.

The bus routes taking in Ballyheigue are:

Kerryhead, Ballyheigue to Tralee (Tuesday & Friday).

Ballyheigue Area (Sunday).

€5 single or return (€2 for children under 12 years) and the Free Travel

RESPITE DAY-CARE: for Dependant/Alzheimer’s Service Users. This service is
available at the Community Centre every Friday from 9.30am – 2.30pm. This
provides a welcome respite opportunity for carers, and provides a positive
experience for the person receiving care. We have a care assistant and
Nurse on duty at all times. Please contact the Centre on 066 7133837 for
more information.

PUBLIC MEETING: Following the success of our previous public meeting, we
are hosting 2018’s Public meeting on Thursday 8th February at 7:30pm at
Ballyheigue Community Centre. Everyone welcome!

COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Monday 15th January in
the Ballyheigue & District Coursing Club Lotto: 1-7-11-24. Jackpot was not
won. The €50 winner was Mary Mahony, C/o Macs. The €25 winners were: Tony
O’Leary, C/o White Sands; Claire Reidy, C/o John B., Brendan Guerin, C/o
White Sands. Next week’s Jackpot €8,400.

BADMINTON: We had nearly 70 players travel from all clubs in Kerry for our
Annual Ballyheigue Invitational tournament held in the Community Centre.

Ballyheigue club members were quite prominent in all finals. Especially
John McDonnell who followed up his Listowel win with another victory in the
Div 4 final where Paula O’Sullivan was runner up.

Colm Griffin won the Div-4 Plate and Fiona Moriarty was a runner up.

In the Div-5 Mixed final Cathal O’Regan narrowly missed out victory.

The Div-5 Plate was won by Alan O’Halloran and runner up spot went to
Michelle Fealy Corr.

Overall the tournament ran very smoothly and this was thanks to everybody
from the top table to the volunteers in the kitchen.

Next week is the start of the Championships with the Div-1,-3, and-5 taking
place in Killarney.

GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday’s GAA Lotto:

GAA JUVENILES: The Ballyheigue GAA Juvenile Medal presentation will be held
at the White Sands hotel from 4pm-6pm on Sunday 28th January. Please note

DEATH: The death has occurred of Michael Lynch, Ballymacquin, Ardfert,
reposed at Hartnett’s Funeral Home, Ballyheigue on Monday 15the
January.2018. Requiem Mass on Tuesday 16th January in the Sacred Heart
Church, Kilmoyley, followed by burial in Reilig Naofa Erc. New cemetery,
Kilmoyley. May he Rest in Peace. Sadly missed by his loving brother T.P.,
sister-in-law Anne, nieces Kelly and Megan, their partners Martin and Josh,
relatives and friends.

DEATH: The death has occurred of Agnes O’Donoghue (née Browne), Meenoghane,
Causeway. Predeceased by her husband Maurice and brother Patsy. Deeply
regretted by her son T.J., daughters Elaine O’Hara, Siobhan Foley
(Abbeydorney) and Sorcha (Norwich), sisters Kathleen O’Sullivan (Ballyduff)
Mary O’Sullivan (Kilburn), brothers Christy (Ballyheigue) and Harry Joe
(Wembley), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law,
grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Reposing Sunday 14th
