GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday’s GAA Lotto:
3-16-23-26. The Jackpot of €8,250 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot will

UNDER-12s: The Ballyheigue U-12 hurlers defeated Rathmore in the Co. League
on Thursday evening. Score Ballyheigue 4-6 and Rathmore 3-2.

INTERMEDIATE: The Ballyheigue Intermediate hurlers had a one point victory
over Causeway in the North Kerry league. Final score Ballyheigue 2-10 and

MINOR: The Ballyheigue/Causeway Minor hurlers had a great win over St.
Brendan’s on Sunday morning.. They are now through to the North Kerry
league final.

BALLYHEIGUE COMMUNITY CENTRE AGM: The AGM of Ballyheigue Social Economy
Enterprises CLG was held at Ballyheigue Community Centre on Wednesday 18th
April. The following Officers and Directors were elected for 2018.

Treasurer: Tom Fitzgerald. Vice Chairman: Cathal O’Regan. Vice Secretary:

elected: Michael Dowling, Cllr John Lucid, Pat Sheehan, Ann Drury O’Leary,
Donna Nealon, Patrick Flahive and Kieran O’Sullivan.

COMMUNITY GAMES 2018: Last weekend we had 2 Draughts team travel to UL for
the Munster Finals and what a great day was had with 13 gold medals coming
back to the county. Both teams did extremely well to secure their place in
the ALL Irelands this May. Congrats to coach Terence Dineen who puts
tremendous amount of time into training all the teams. It’s great when all
the hard work pays off. Thanks to the parents who travelled and helped out
with drives. U14 team Denis Lynch, Charlie Fitzgerald, Dara Donnelly,
Darragh of *Fuairain, David O’ Grady and Matthew Boyle

Congratulations to Aaron Horgan who received 2nd place and a Silver medal
to his ever rising running career. Aaron will now be part of U12 Cross
Country relay team who will participate in the ALL Ireland Finals this
summer. Best of luck. Also congrats to Max Fitzgerald who got a Bronze
medal in U11 gymnastics. Max did brilliant, keep up the good work. Our U14
and U16 Draughts team will represent Kerry this coming weekend in UL at the
Munster Finals. Best of luck to both teams, we look forward to hearing how
it all goes.

U16 team Adam Dineen, David O’Sullivan, Dara Kearney, Oisin O’Regan, Sam
Fitzgerald, Maggie Stack and Eric Walsh. Massive congrats to our very own
Charlie Fitzgerald on his recent win in Dublin at the Boxing All Irelands.
There was a lovely welcome home for a well deserving All Ireland winner
Charlie and proud parents Ash and JP. Congrats Charlie from all in
Community Games

BADMINTON: We finished off the badminton season with our end of year
tournament on Thursday night.

Thirty players, including some from Causeway club took part and after a lot

Winning Team: Colum Carroll, Frankie Flaherty, Josie Gilbert [Causeway] and
Kyle Reidy.

Runners Up: Patrick O Halloran, Mike Carroll [Causeway] Lilian Holmes and
Fiona Moriarty.

Novice winners Brian Carter and Michelle Corr. Runners up Kenneth O
Sullivan and Cindy Chen.

The final event of the year is the Annual County Social and Prize giving
which is on Saturday 19th of May in the Rose hotel. Our Summer Club will
run on Monday nights until the end of June. Colum Carroll, Frankie
Flaherty, Josie Gilbert [Causeway] and Kyle Reidy.

DEATH: The death has occurred of Larry (Laurance) Dunne, Glenderry,
Ballyheigue. Reposing in Hartnett’s Funeral Home on Thursday 19th
April. Requiem
Mass in St. Mary’s Church on Friday 20th April followed with burial
afterwards in St. Mary’s New Cemetery, Ballyheigue. May he Rest in
Peace. Sadly
missed by his family loving wife Hanna, Daughters Kathleen and Breda Sons:
Patrick, John, Michael, Paul, Joe and Tom. Sister: Bridie Corridan,
Daughters-in-law: Doreen and Christine son-in-law: Michael Fitzgerald,
nieces and nephews, grandson Owen, grand-daughters Meagan, Lisa, Suabhann,
Caoimhe, Kate, Laura and Amy, cousins, relatives and friends. Larry served
as Chairman of Ballyheigue GAA Club and the club members formed a Guard of
Honour at his removal.

PIETA HOUSE: Darkness into Light Walk is taking place in Listowel on May 12
th 2018 at 4.15 am.

ARDFERT HARVEST CYCLE: to take place on Sunday 29th April from 10AM-3PM. After
registration, the cycle commences at 10am from Ardfert School. As the 72km
route includes Kerryhead and Ballyheigue it would be appreciated if
livestock could be kept off roads between 10.00AM -3.00PM.

RETIREMENT MASS: The Vigil mass next Saturday, 28th April will be
celebrated to mark the retirement of our Sacristan Michael Sheehy. It will
be followed by a gathering in the Community Centre where light refreshments
will be served. A special presentation will be made to him on the night on
behalf of the Parishioners of our Parish. You are all most welcome to
attend. We wish him a long and happy retirement.

to Down Syndrome Kerry and Palliative Care/Hospice Kerry at Katie Brownes,
Ardfert on Saturday Night.
The Committee would like to thank St. Brendan’s A/C whom donated the
proceeds of their 4mile fun run, Ardfert Quarry for the use of their
premises, all our sponsors, stewards, ticket sellers, exhibitors,
demonstrators, stall holders, vintage enthusiasts and you the general
