GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday’s GAA Lotto:
13-28-29-30. The Jackpot of €8,350 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot will
be €8,400. The two €50 winners were: Joe Higgins, Ballylongane and Mary

UNDER-17 hurling: The Kerry U-17 hurlers defeated Limerick, Sarsfield in
the Celtic Challenge League on Wednesday evening at Rathkeale, score Kerry
3-17 and Limerick Sarsfield 0-10. The Ballyheigue club was represented on
the Kerry team by Colin Walsh, Nathan Guerin, Ciarran Casey and Ricky

INTERMEDIATE: The Ballyheigue Intermediate hurlers were defeated by Lixnaw
in the N.K. Championship on Friday evening, score Ballyheigue ‘B’ 0-8 and
Lixnaw 1-13.

FEILE: The Ballyheigue U-14 hurlers defeated Crotta in the Feile
semi-final, score Ballyheigue 2-9 and Crotta 0-2. They play Lixnaw in the
Feile ‘B’ Final on Bank Holiday Monday 7th May.

PATRICK O’MAHONY TOURNAMENT: Results on Saturday evening: Causeway 2-13,
St. Rynaghs 2-14.

Second game: Ballyheigue 2-15 Staker Wallace 3-14. Sunday Games: The ‘B’
Final Ballyheigue 2-10 Causeway 1-16. The ‘A’ Final St.Rynaghs 2-17 and
Staker Wallace 1-16. The player of the tournament went to Dermot McCarthy
of the Staker Wallace Club.

KERRY HURLERS: The Kerry Senior hurlers were defeated by Carlow in the Joe
McDonagh Cup on Sunday at Dr. Cullen Park, score Kerry 0-18 and Carlow 0-21.
Michael Leane and Philip Lucid were members of the Kerry panel.

FIXTURES: Co. U-16 hurling league semi-final Ballyheigue v Abbeydorney this
Thursday evening at the John Joe O’Sullivan Park 7.00pm. Co. Under-12
hurling league Ballyheigue v Kilmoyley at Kilmoyley Friday evening 7.00pm.
Co. Under-14 league Ballyheigue v Abbeydorney at John Joe O’Sullivan Park,
Saturday 6.00pm.

COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Monday 30th April in
the Ballyheigue & District Coursing Club Lotto 6-7-15-16. Jackpot was not

ST BRENDAN’S AC: This is the big weekend for St Brendan’s AC athletes as
the county juvenile track and field championships are being staged in
Castleisland. Athletes are asked to be at the track at 10.30am on both
Saturday and Sunday. Athletes are asked to be present. Details on Facebook

On Sunday last the club’s juniors and masters collected a bagful of medals
at their county track and field championships in Castleisland. One of the
highlights of the day was Darragh Courtney’s leap of 1.95m in the junior
high jump.

Details of the local area primary schools sports on Wednesday, May 23rd in
Ardfert are being sent to the schools this week.

OVER 55s ACTIVE RETIREMENT GROUP: would like to thank all who attended and
contributed to our Alzheimer’s Tea Day event. We are proud to say we
collected €347 for the Society. Once again thank you to everybody who
attended and to the suppliers who contributed gifts so generously.

ROGATION DAYS: Minor Rogation days fall this year on Monday 7th Tuesday 8th
and Wednesday 9th May. Holy Water blessed at the Mass on Tuesday 8th will
be available outside the Church in a container and the age old custom
people can take it home and sprinkle it on their crops, land, vegetable
gardens and flowers. Lord, we ask you at this time for good weather and a
bountiful harvest.
