GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday’s GAA lotto
23,27,29,30. The Jackpot of €9150 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot will be
€9200. The two €50 winners were Margaret Guerin Tireshanahan and Sean Keane
Old Mill. The €25 winner was Peadar Hanlon Dreenagh.
U13: The U13 hurlers had a good win over Causeway on Monday evening in
North Kerry Championship. They will now play Tralee Parnells in the final.
Minors: The Ballyheigue/Causeway had a four victory over St
Brendans/Kilmoyley in the Co-Championship Semi Final at Abbeydorney on
Tuesday evening. Full time score Ballyheigue/Causeway 4-16 to St Brendans/
Kilmoyley 3-15. Good luck to team in Co. Championship Final.

*Co Minor Final:* Heartbreak for the Ballyheigue/Causeway Minor hurling
team who lost by a single point in the Co. Championship Final in Austin
Stacks on Sunday. Abbeydorney had the aid of wind in the First Half. The
teams went in level 8 points each. The Ballyheigue scorers in the opening
half were Nathan Guerin 0-5, Gavin Dooley 0-2 and Colin Walsh 0-1. The
Ballyheigue/Causeway team had the help the wind in second half but was
Abbeydorney that went ahead with a point. Then a great goal from stick of
Dan Goggin to put Ballyheigue/Causeway team ahead. Midway through second
half disaster struck when Abbeydorney scored two quick goal to put them 6
points ahead. Fair play to Ballyheigue/Causeway boys never gave up with
points from Gavin Dooley, Brendan Walsh and five points from the wonderful
Nathan Guerin who gave an exhibition of points scoring from play and frees.
He scored a total of ten points. A draw may have been a fair result, but it
was not to be and Abbeydorney held out for a single point win. Final Score
Ballyheigue /Causeway 1-16 Abbeydorney 3-11.
Coursing Lotto: The Following numbers were drawn on the Monday 20th August
in the Ballyheigue District Coursing Club Lotto 10,11,15,27. The €50 winner
was Thomas Roche C/o White Sands. The €25 winners were Colm Harty C/o
Christina, Maurice J. Harmon C/o Macs and Alice Hanlon C/o Costcutter. Next
week’s Jackpot €9950.

Wheels: any amount you require delivered straight to your door or
collection from the Centre on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Senior Citizens
Daycare Social Group every Wednesday. We provide a three-course meal, Bingo
and light activities. This social group is open to everyone.
Pattern Thresher: A full programme of events has been prepared again this year
for the Harvest Festival on the 7th, 8th and 9th September. Special Guest,
Mr Denis ‘Ógie Moran, will open the Festival on the 7th the Pattern
Thresher Night in the White Sands. Pat Power’s trad puppets will perform on
the street. Saxophonist will bring a tuneful ambience to the Street on the
Pattern Day and Mr Gabriel Fitzmaurice will open the Diaspora Day
proceedings. He will also speak on the theme of Songs of Exile. A super
weekend is in store for locals, tourists and visitors and everyone is

*St Brendan’s AC*: Ballyheigue athlete Margaret Carlin of St Brendan’s AC
had a brilliant run in New Zealand on Saturday last in the Maunganui half
marathon, coming in 3rd in the O50 category in a time of 1-44-09. There
were 64 runners in that category. A host of athletes of all ages from the
club took part in the Tralee parkruns at the weekend and in other road runs
in a number of venues.
