GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday’s GAA Lotto:
3-12-15-30. The Jackpot of €9,200 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot will
be € 9,250. The two €50 winners were Eileen Drury, Marian Park and
Joan Leen, Church Road, Ballyheigue. The € 25 winner was Angelia
O’Mahony, Clahanebawn, Ballyheigue.

SENIOR: The Senior Hurlers were well beaten by a strong Ballyduff team on
Friday evening in the North Kerry Championship.

FIXTURES: North Kerry under-10 hurling Blitz at Tralee this Saturday
morning 10am. North Kerry under-16 Championship Ballyheigue v
Abbydorney on Sunday morning 12 noon at John Joe O’Sullivan Park.

GAA GOLF CLASSIC: The Ballyheigue GAA Club is undertaking a programme of
development so would appreciate your support for our Golf Classic that will
take place on September 22nd. Prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd. Teams of 4 x
€100. Tee times available at Golf Club.

FUND RAISING RAFFLE: Ballyheigue GAA/Kerry GAA Fundraising raffle on
Pattern Day Ballyheigue. Please support.

ST BRENDAN’S AC: Juvenile training for the new cross country season begins
on this Wednesday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm in An Fearann, behind Ardfert
Medical Centre. All ages from 7 to 19 will be catered for and the cost is 2
euro and athletes should bring their own bottle of water. Training will
continue on Saturday mornings from 11am to 12 noon in An Fearann. Parents
are asked to assist at the training.

The first cross country competition of the year will be the primary schools
event on Wednesday, Sep.19th in An Fearann for the St Brendan’s AC area. Club

PATTERN DAY: We look forward to our annual Pattern Day at Our Lady’s Well
and Grotto next Saturday 8th September. Mass celebrated by Bishop Ray
Browne begins at 11.00am. Our thanks to all the volunteers, stewards,
choir members, readers, ministers and gardai. Stewards are asked to be at
the Grotto at 9.30am to cater for the large crowds. It is in accordance
with the spirit of the Pattern to leave the grotto car park for the very
elderly and disabled. These are asked to be there by 10.00am to avoid
disappointment. We pray that our devotion to Mary will bring many graces
and favours to our community for the coming year.

Annual Gathering for Parish Contact People: Wed., Sept. 12th 7.30pm-9.30pm.

Fall Adult Religious Education Programme: Fr. Sean Sheehy, Topic: What does
God want me to do with my life? This is an 8-session course, Wednesdays –
beginning Sept. 19th, 7.30pm-9.00pm.

Parental Grief Retreat: Caroline Ni Dhuinn, Emmaus Ministry for Grieving

PATTERN THRESHER: A full programme of events has been prepared again this
year for the Harvest Festival on the 7th, 8th and 9th September.

Special Guest, Mr Denis Ógie Moran, will open the Festival on the 7th the
Pattern Thresher Night in the White Sands. Pat Power’s trad puppets will
perform on the street. Saxophonist will bring tuneful ambience to the
Street on the Pattern Day and Mr Gabriel Fitzmaurice will open the Dispora
Day proceedings. He will also speak on the theme of Songs of Exile.

A super weekend is in store for locals, tourists and visitors and everyone
is invited. The Organising Committee wishes to thank their major sponsors:
Alan O’Sullivan, Timothy Kenny and Kerry County Council for their ongoing
generosity. The people who guided the famous Aeríocht during the 40s, 50s
and 60s will also be honoured at the Festival. See you there!

DEATH: The death has occurred of Kathleen (Kathy Mai) MCormack (nee Kenny),
Chicago and formerly of Cliff Road, Ballyheigue. Pre-deceased by her
husband Jim and brothers Michael and John Martin. Deeply mourned by her
loving sons, daughters and their families. Her dear sisters Theresa, Helen
and Mary and their families, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends. May she
Rest in Peace.

COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Monday 27th August in
the Ballyheigue & District Coursing Club lotto. 15-19-24-29. The Jackpot
was not won. The €50 winner was Theresa O’Mahony C/o Macs The €25
winners were: Marian Harty, C/o Christina and Theresa O’Mahony C/o Macs,
Derek Osborne, C/o Kirby’s. Next week’s Jackpot is € 10.000.

OVER 55s CLUB (ACTIVE RETIRED): Welcome back to all our members and hope
you all enjoyed the summer break and lovely weather. We will resume
activities on Wednesday 12th September at 11.00am in the Family Resource
Centre.
