BALLYHEIGUE COMMUNITY CENTRE in association with Ballyheigue Community
Players would like to thank most sincerely everyone who supported their
recent performances of The Year of The Hiker. The Community Centre would
like to thank the generosity of Ballyheigue Community Players as proceeds
of the play were donated towards the cost of the planned refurbishment of
the sports hall floor in 2019.

MAGICAL CHRISTMAS – Floral demonstration by Kathleen Reidy at The River
Island Hotel, Castleisland on Tuesday, 4th December at 7.30 pm. Admission
€5. All floral arrangements will be raffled on the night. Proceeds in aid
of new Palliative Care Unit: Tralee & Kerry Cork Health Link Bus. Kathleen

RECOVERY HAVEN: Evening of Sporting Greats – the event is a fundraising
sports panel evening at Ballyroe Heights Hotel on Nov 30th, chaired by
Listowel’s Billy Keane, featuring GAA legends Mácheál Ó Muircheartaigh and
Aidan O’Mahony, racing commentator Ted Walsh and women’s rugby captain,
Ciara Griffin

The event is also flagged on the Recovery Haven Facebook and Twitter pages.

GLENDERRY N.S. – Will present “The Late-Late Toy Show” in Ballyheigue
Community Centre on Wednesday 28th November at 7.00pm in association with
Joe Burkett School of Dance, Ann O’Mahony, and Brendan Fuller (Radio
Kerry). It will be an evening of music, dance and chat and an opportunity
to look at some of the children’s favourite toys. There will be lots of
spot prizes to be won and refreshments will be available. Admission €5.
All most welcome.

GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday’s GAA Lotto
10-16-21-30, The Jackpot of €9,800 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot will be
€9,850. The two €50 winners were Andrew Sheehy, Church Road and Criss
James. Ballylongane, The €25 winner was John Healy, Dromature.

N. K. H. B. Awards: The North Kerry Hurling Board annual awards night will
take place at Ballyroe Heights Hotel this Friday night 30th Nov at 8pm.

FIXTURES: Munster Junior hurling championship, Ballyheigue ’B’ v
Inagh-Kilnamona (Clare) on Saturday 8th December at Raheenagh, Limerick 1pm.

DEATH: The death has occurred of Ita Harty (née Casey), Ballylongane,
Ballyheigue on the 19th Nov, beloved wife of Martin, and dear mother of
Maurice, Anne, Kieran, and the late James. Sadly missed by her loving
family, grandchildren, Aisling, Muiris, Gearoid, Jennifer, Stephen and
Moira; brothers John and Mike; sisters Margaret, Bee-Ann and Mary,
daughters-in-law, Geraldine and Sheila, son-in-law Con, nephews, nieces,
relatives, neighbours and many friends. May She Rest in Peace. Reposing at
the Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee on Wednesday. Removal to St Mary’s Church
Ballyheigue. Requiem Mass on Thursday, Internment afterwards in the Holy
Family Cemetery, Ballyheigue.

KNOCK SHRINE: O’Shea’s Kerry Coaches will travel to Knock Shrine on Friday 7
th December for Night Vigil of the Feast of Immaculate Conception. Contact

ST BRENDAN’S AC: Registration evening was held on Tuesday, but if anyone
was unable to attend on the evening they should contact 087 7985557 as soon
as possible. Training for juveniles continues on Wednesday evenings from
6.30 to 8pm for U8 to U11 in Ardfert Community Centre. Training for U12s
upwards will be held on Wednesdays also but in Ardfert sportsfield from
6.45 to 7.45pm. The adult Fit 4 Life group training is completed for the
moment and will resume in the new year. Well done to Moira, Aaron and
Kevin Horgan who were part of a park-run group who travelled to Berlin last
weekend to do the Hasenheide park-run. Well done to all the other St
Brendan’s AC athletes who were involved in other activities over the week.

COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Tuesday 20th Nov in
the Ballyheigue & District Coursing Club Lotto: 15-17-26-28. The Jackpot
was not won. The €50 winner was Darren Delaney C/o Macs. The €25 winners
were Brendan Guerin, C/o White Sands, Anne Marie Horgan, C/o Mike and
Thomas Galway, C/o White Sands. Next week’s Jackpot is €10,600.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: The Christmas Bazaar will be held in the Community
Centre on Sunday 9th December. Santa will arrive at 6pm.

RACES: This year our committee celebrates its Golden Jubilee of Horse and
Pony Racing in Ballyheigue and to mark this historic mile-stone,
Ballyheigue will witness a two-day event scheduled for Saturday 29th and
Sunday 30th December 2018. First race 1.30pm.
