PANTOMINE: ‘CINDERELLA’ Ballyheigue Community Centre on Friday 4th January
2019 starting at 7.00pm. Pay at Door – Adults €10 and Under 12s €5.

GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn Sunday 23rd December 2018 GAA
Lotto: 5-6-17-28. The Jackpot of €10,000 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot
will be €10,050. The two €50 winners were Laura and Gillian O’ Carroll,
Kerryhead, and Joseph Lawlor, Tiershanahan. The €25 was Maggie Bailey,
Glendahalan.

GAA LOTTO: The Lotto numbers drawn on Sunday 30th December 2018 were:
8-13-14-15. The Jackpot of €10,050 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot will
be €10,100. The €50 winners were Kieran O’Mahony, Clahanebawn, Michael
Pierce, Ballylongane and David Griffin, Buncurrig. The €25 winners were:

KERRY HURLERS: The Kerry Senior hurlers were defeated by All Ireland
Champions Limerick on Thursday evening at Austin Stack’s Park in the
Munster League. The Ballyheigue Club was represented on the Kerry team by
Michael Leane who played at wing forward.

COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Monday 17th December
2018 in the Ballyheigue & District Coursing Club: 12-19-22-24. The Jackpot
was not won. The €50 winners were Betty Foran, C/o White Sands, Theresa O’

ST BRENDAN’S AC NOTES for End Dec 2018: St Brendan’s AC wishes everyone a

St Brendan’s AC Notes for Wed Jan 2nd, 2019

St Brendan’s Athletic Club had a number of athletes in action over
Christmas week in a number of venues, including the Farranfore Maine Valley
AC road race on St Stephen’s Day as well as runs in Ballyheigue and
Ballyduff. The club also had athletes in a number of parkruns over the
week. Among the athletes involved in the various races were David Butler,
Irene Butler, Artur Nowak, Kevin Horgan, Aaron Horgan, Ben O’Connor,
Matthew O’Sullivan, Rory O’Halloran, Zach Walshe, Alex O’Carroll, Gerard
Carroll, Pádraig Regan, Pat Sheehy, Cathy Flynn, Linda O’Sullivan and
Declan Sheehan.

New year activities begin on Tuesday next, January 8th when the older
athletes will start the new year with their Fit4Life circuit training in
Ardfert at 8pm. Everybody who wants to get fit may take part in this
session and need not be members of the club. Then on Wed January 9th
juvenile training resumes in the Community Centre at 6.30pm. Details from

BALLYHEIGUE ANNUAL RACE MEETING; Took place on 29th and 30th December 2018.

With horses from far and wide, and a large attendance. Conditions were
perfect. There were a number of races on both days. Congratulations to
all concerned.

DEATH: The death has occurred of John Hare, Ballylongane, Ballyheigue,
reposing at Hartnetts Funeral Home on Sunday evening 23rd December,
followed by removal to St Mary’s Church, Ballyheigue. Requiem Mass took
place on Monday 24th December in St Mary’s Church Ballyheigue and burial
afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery Ballyheigue May He Rest in Peace. Sadly
missed by his loving family brothers: Dave and Patrick, sisters-in-law,
Doreen and Ruth, Niece Aislinn, Nephews Keith, David, Paul, Martin, and
Patrick, relatives and many friends.
