BALLYHEIGUE COMMUNITY CENTRE: would like to inform and remind people in the
surrounding areas of our Day-care Service on Fridays and Saturdays. We
provide a welcoming, safe supportive and enjoyable setting for
non-independent people. This service allows the person to interact with
others who share similar experiences. It provides activities for the
individual who matches their ability and need; this assists in enhancing
mental and physical well-being. This service also provides the individual’s
carer with respite time to care for themselves, spend time with other
family members and friends, run errands, shopping or just relax in the
knowledge that their loved one is safe and secure. The service has a
trained nurse and two care assistants. Please phone 066-7133837 for a
friendly chat with a member of staff who will endeavour to answer any
questions or to arrange a visit to the premises. Opening Hours for the
Day-care service: Friday: 10:00am – 3:00pm, Saturday 10:00am – 3:00pm”

COMMUNITY GAMES 2016: Our annual local athletics night was a great success.
We had the biggest crowd in years and were delighted with the support we
got from adults and children. We thank Ballyheigue GAA for the use of the
field and Con Heffernan who is a great support and help to us every year.
The county athletics will be held in An Riocht in June, more details to
follow. Last Sunday saw our gymnast Max Fitzgerald take to the floor. Max
received a Bronze medal with proud parents JP and Ash watching on. Sunday
also saw our U15 futsol team of Adam Leary, Colin Walsh, Darren Stack,
Ciaran Casey, Ruaidhri Duggan, Jordan Goggin, Nathan Guerin and Tomas
Gaynor under the watchful eyes of coach Jack Duggan and Mark o Sullivan
play their hearts out in Duagh. The boys got to the final and at half time
were 1-0 up; Duagh came back after half time and scored 2 goals in under a
minute. The pressure was on and our boys came back to equalise. The game
then went to extra time which remained scoreless so then it was on to the
dreaded penalties. Ballyheigue won 3-2 bringing home the Gold medals much
to the delight of all of us. Well done to all, we look forward to
representing Kerry in the Munsters this July.
