PARISH PLANNING MEETING: There will be a very important planning meeting
with three Priests from the Pastoral Area to get together with parishioners
in the light of new reality, due to the acute fall in vocations. Members
of the Pastoral and Finance Councils are requested to attend as well as the
Parish Liturgy Group, Parish Clerk, Parish Secretary and other interested
parishioners who would like to be involved. Meeting on Tuesday at 8.30pm
in The Community Centre.

COMMUNITY GAMES: Last Saturday we headed off to UL with 4 teams to compete
in The Munsters of Community Games. We were delighted to be travelling home
to 2 of our teams winning the Munsters. Our U12 draughts team of Dara
Kearney, Dara Donnelly, Denis Lynch, O’Fuaráin, David Grady and Charlie
Fitzgerald along with our U13 boys futsol team of Daniel O’Loughlin, Eric
Walsh, Muiris Harty, David O’ Sullivan, Felim O’ Sullivan and Oisin O’
Regan will now go onto the All Ireland Finals in Athlone this August. This
is a fantastic achievement for our Parish of Ballyheigue to win 2 out of 4
team events. Our U13 futsol girls and U15 futsol boys were very unlucky to
bow out at semi-final stage but they all did excellent. We wish to thank
the parents who travelled on the day and to Jack Duggan the futsol coach,
our bus driver Kieran O’Sullivan and the hard working committee for all

CAMPA SAMHRAIDH / SUMMER CAMP: Ógras, the oldest Irish language youth
organisation, will run Summer Camps at Cumann Iosaef, Tralee from July 18 –
22 and and at Listowel Community Centre and Ballyheigue Community Centre
from July 25th – 29th to encourage young people aged 7 to 12 to practise
their Irish in a fun environment. Camp will run from10 to 2.30 with a trip
on Thursday. Participants will engage in a wide range of activities
including conversational practise, hurling, football, soccer,
basketball, hockey, volleyball, badminton, tennis, drama, music, table quiz
and art. Cost is €50 for first participant and €45 for second and
participants. Cost of trip and camp t-shirt included. Numbers limited so

KELLOGG’S GAA CÚL CAMPS: The Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp will be held at the
John Joe O’Sullivan Park from 18th to 22nd July. Cost €55 per child with
reductions for additional members of family. Camps are open to primary
schools children between 6 & 13 years of age. Monday to Friday 10am to
2.30 pm daily. You can also register on the morning of the Camp.

GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday’s GAA Lotto:
4-9-14-30. The Jackpot of €3,700 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot will be
€3,750. The two €50 winners were: Mark

UNDER-13: The U-13 hurlers defeated Ballyduff in the Rhyno Mills North
Kerry Championship semi-final on Wednesday evening at Ballyduff, score
Ballyheigue 0-7 and Ballyduff 0-4. They played St. Brendan’s in the Final
and lost out on a score of Ballyheigue 3-3 and St. Brendan’s 6-6.

FIXTURES: Co. Senior hurling Championship, Losers Round Ballyheigue v
Ballyduff at Kilmoyley Saturday evening 5 pm.

GAA COLLECTION: The annual Ballyheigue GAA Church gate collection will be
taken up on the week-end of 16th/17th July.

INTERMEDIATE: The Intermediate hurlers were defeated by Crotta in the Co.
Championship Q-final at Dromakee, score Ballyheigue 1-7 and Crotta 1-20.

GAELCHOLÁISTE GLEAN DOIRE: The popular Irish Language Summer School
resumes this year from Monday 11th to 15th July, and Monday 18th to 22nd
July. A limited numbers of places still available. The school starts at
9.30am each day. The Irish language is taught is a fun way. Afternoon
activities include Kayaking, Surfing, Carting, Cooking, Zip Wiring, Gym
Work and Mini Golf. Application forms available from Glenderry National
