BALLYHEIGUE NOTES – 2nd August 2016

PARISH OFFICE: The office is located in the Presbytery and will be open on
Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9.30am – 1.00pm. All bookings for
Masses, Mass cards, Weddings, Christenings etc. to go through Parish
Office. Bookings can be made by calling to the Presbytery or ’phone (066)
7133110 during the above hours.

PARISH NEWSLETTER: Would you like material printed in the Parish Newsletter
(space being available) please have same e-mailed to: or dropped into the letter box of Presbytery
by 9.00am Thursday mornings. Thank you.

MONTHLY COMMUNION CALLS: Please note Fr. Comer and Fr. Walsh will bring
Communion to the Elderly on Thursday afternoon 12th August, at the usual
time and Friday afternoon 13th August. Please inform your relatives and
neighbours of these new times.

MOBILE LIBRARY: The mobile library comes to Ballyheigue Village every month
and the next visit is Wednesday 24th August. What can you borrow?
Junior/Adult members can borrow up to 8 items for a period of 14 days;
Some of the services available may be of interest to you, i.e. Books for
adults and children; Audio books, Large Print books. More information and
guidelines available on or just call down and collect
a book or two on Wednesday 24th August.

GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday’s GAA Lotto:
10-13-15-26. The Jackpot of €3,850 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot will
be €3,900. The two €50 winners were: Hanna Nealon, ‘Costcutters,’ and
Peadar Hanlon, Dreenagh. The €25 winner was Marian O’Halloran, Marian
Park, Ballyheigue.

INTERMEDIATE: The Ballyheigue Intermediate hurlers defeated ‘Ladies Walk’
in the North Kerry Championship on Tuesday evening. Score Ballyheigue 1-8
and Ladies Walk 1-6.

UNDER 15: The Ballyheigue Under-15 hurlers had a good win over Crotta in
the North Kerry Championship on Thursday evening. Panel: Jamie Lee, Seimi

UNDER-12: The U-12 hurlers lost to Ballyduff in the Co. League on Friday
evening. Score Ballyheigue 2-8 and Ballyduff 5-9.

KERRY MINOR HURLERS: The Kerry Minor hurlers defeated Kildare in the All
Ireland ‘B’ Championship Q-Final at Austin Stack’s Park on Saturday. Final
score Kerry 2-20 and Kildare 2-10. The Ballyheigue Club was represented on
the team by Conor Galway who lined out at midfield.

COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Monday 25th July in
the Ballyheigue & District Coursing Club Lotto: 2-10-28-29. Jackpot was
not won. The €50 winner was Monty Leahy, C/o Christina. The €25 winners
were: Judy Couchman, C/o Kitty; Patrick Casey, C/o Sean and Carol Looney,
C/o Flahive’s. Next week’s Jackpot €4,550.

DEATH: The death took place on Thursday 28th July 2016 of Marie Lawlor (née
Kenny), Glendahalan and formerly of Tiduff, Ballyheigue, beloved wife of
John and mother of Margaret, David and Catherine. Sadly missed by her
loving family; grandchildren: Jack, Daithi, Kate, Kealan and Dylan; brother
John; sister Kathleen; nephews; nieces; brother- in law, and
sisters-in-law; relatives and friends. RIP. Reposing at the Gleasure
Funeral Home, Tralee on Sunday 31st July and removal to St. Mary’s Church,
Ballyheigue. Requiem Mass at 12 noon on Monday 1st August and Internment
afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballyheigue.
