COMMUNITY GAMES 2016: Presentation Evening 2016, on Thursday 29th December
between 3-5 pm we invite all our children with their parents to Flahive’s
Bar to celebrate our very successful year. All children who received a
Medal either County, Munster, or All Ireland are asked to come along with
their parents on which should be an enjoyable afternoon.
TABLE QUIZ (Community Games): Once again we hold our Annual Table Quiz in
Flahive’s Bar on Thursday 29th December 2016 at 8.30 pm. Table of 4 €20.
There is also a prize for best Team Name. All your support is very greatly
appreciated. This is a great opportunity to get together over Christmas in
a nice friendly atmosphere. We look forward to seeing you all there and
support also from the Parents and Families who have been involved with
Community Games this year is vital to the continuation of Community Games
in our area.
DEATHS: The death occurred on the 8th December of Sean O’Sullivan,
Liosdara, Oakpark, Tralee and late of Doon, Ballyheigue. Sadly missed by
beloved wife Mary and dear father of Gerard, Elaine, Damien and Eamon.
Sadly missed by his loving family, his grandchildren: Finn and Cillian,
brothers and sisters, daughters-in-law: Louise, Samantha and Susan,
brothers-and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and
many friends. Rest in peace. Requiem Mass on Monday in St. John’s Church,
Tralee. Internment afterwards in New Rath Cemetery, Tralee.
The death occurred of Mary Murphy (née Kirby), Coisfarraige, Main Street,
Ballyheigue and late of Maidenhead, England. Reposing at Hartnett’s
Funeral Home, Ballyheigue on Wednesday 14th December followed by removal to
St. Mary’s Church. Requiem Mass on Thursday 15th December in St. Mary’s
Church and burial afterwards in the Holy Family Cemetery, Ballyheigue. May
she rest in peace. Sadly missed by her loving family: sons Alan, Barry and
Peter, daughters-in-law Miria¸ Cath and Kate; grandchildren: Patrick, Kira,
Tomás, Thea, Aoife and Eoin; nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.
BALLYHEIGUE STRAND RACES: The annual Ballyheigue Strand Horse and Pony
Races takes place on Sunday 1st January 2017 @ 12.30 pm. This is the first
of the 2017 flapper season, a seven card race which should provide some
quality racing. This year marks the 48th meeting of racing in Ballyheigue.
RINGS: Results of our Annual Christmas Doubles Tournament held in the
Family Resource Centre last week –
Winners Mark Reidy and Eugene Stack beat Patsy O’Connor and Cathal O’Regan
two sets to one in the final.
Semi-finalists Kathleen McDonagh and Matt Dillon and also Noel Kelliher and
Prize for the highest score on the night went to Martin Young .
We will resume again on Tuesday 10th January. New members welcome.
N.K. HARRIERS: On the 2nd of January the North Kerry Harriers will host a
Fun Ride in Ballyheigue leaving from Ballyheigue Village at 12 O’clock.
With kind thanks to Mike O’Halloran. Wide range of jumping in a beautiful
location. Suitable for all ages & Novice Riders. Everyone welcome. €20

COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Monday 12th December in
the Ballyheigue & District Coursing Club Lotto- 11-14-18-25. Jackpot was
not won. The €50 winner was Joan Kenny, C/o Costcutter. The €25 winners
were Martina Long, C/o Macs, Tony Daughton, C/o John B. and Marie
Cantillon, C/o Diarmuid. Next week’s Jackpot €5,550. Wishing all

CHRISTMAS BOUQUET MASS CARDS: available from Parish Office, located in
Presbytery open Wednesday 21st/22nd from 9.30am to 1.00pm. (Closed 28th/29
th December) and reopens again 4th /5th January at usual time.
CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: On behalf Kerryhead/Ballyheigue Family Resource Centre,
Bouleenshere and Glenderry National Schools we would like to offer our
sincere thanks to all the local businesses who supported this year’s
Christmas Bazaar. It would not be possible to run the Bazaar without the
support of our local businesses. All proceeds go to our schools and the
Family Resource Centre. Also a special thanks to all the children and
families who sold lines and who attended on the day.

abroad Season Greetings, a Happy Christmas and a Peaceful New Year;
Sympathy to all those from the Parish who suffered a bereavement during the

GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday’s GAA Lotto:
3-9-14-25. The Jackpot of €4,850 was not won. The next Lotto draw will be
held on 1st January 2017 and the Jackpot will be €4,900. The two €50
winners this week were Pat O’Halloran, Marian Park and Valerie Barrett,
Mountway. The €25 winner was Thomas Cantillon, Glendahalan. Many thanks
