CD LAUNCH FOR CHARITY: Anne Dillane and Mona O’Riordan will have a CD
Launch for Charity – Pieta House & the Kerry/Cork Health Link Bus, in
O’Regan’s Lounge, Ballyheigue on Friday night 20th January at 9.30pm. Cost
of CD will be €10, available on the night. Please come along and support
these very worthy charities.

A PUB QUIZ: will be held in Na Gaeil Football Club on Sunday 22nd January
at 4.30 pm to fund raise for costumes for Tenacity School of Performing
Arts show which will be held in Siamsa in April. First Prize Cash for
winning table. Cost ten euro per head. Raffle on the day.

COURSING LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn on Monday 9th January in
the Ballyheigue & District Club Lotto: 19-20-26-30. Jackpot was not
won. The €50 winner was E. & E. O’Halloran, C/o Macs. The €25 winners

BALLYHEIGUE BADMINTON: We had eleven players travel to Listowel for their
Annual Tournament last weekend.

We had no luck in Division 3 or 5 but our Division 4 players performed very

John McDonnell and his partner won the Mixed Doubles Final by default
against Paula O’Sullivan and her partner who unfortunately received an
ankle injury and the final could not be completed.

Colum Carroll won the final of the Plate Competition in Division 4.

Also well done to our Division 4 ladies team who didn’t quite manage the 3
in-a-row as they lost out to a strong Moyvane team.

Still it was a great achievement to reach their third final in a row.

RACE MEETING: A meeting of the Ballyheigue Race Committee will be held at
the K. L. Lounge on Friday 20th January at 9.30pm. Any outstanding money
to be handed in at the meeting.

DEATHS: The death occurred of Michael Lynch, Mountway, Ballyheigue and late
of London and Ballybunion. Reposing in Hartnett’s Funeral Home on Sunday 8
th January 2017 followed by removal to St. Mary’s Church. Requiem Mass in
St. Mary’s Church on Monday 9th January and burial afterwards to St. Mary’s
Cemetery, Ballyheigue. Rest in Peace. Sadly missed by his loving family
daughter Maureen, sons John, Mike, Don, Liam and Paul, sister Joan,
son-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces and nephews, grandchildren,
great-grand children, relatives and friends.

The death occurred of Patricia (Trish) Flavin (née Guerin), Ballyconry,
Lisselton and formerly of Ballyheigue. Reposing at her home on Tuesday 10th
January. Requiem Mass on Wednesday in S.S. Peter & Paul Church,
Ballyduff. Burial afterwards in St. John’s Cemetery Ballybunion. Rest in
Peace. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Raymond; sons Oisin,
Fiachra; daughters Aoife, Caoimhe and Bronagh; mother Peggy; father Pat;
mother-in-law Josephine; father-in-law Pat, sisters Marie and Sandra
brothers Niall and J.J., brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles,
nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

The death occurred of Timmy Michael Kenny, Glenderry. Reposing in
Hartnett’s Funeral Home on Friday 13th January followed by removal to St.
Mary’s Church, Ballyheigue. Requiem Mass in St. Mary’s Church on Saturday
and burial afterwards to St. James Old Cemetery, Ballyheigue. Rest in
Peace. Sadly missed by his loving family: wife Noreen; daughters Helen,
Ann, Margaret; Sons David, Patrick, Tim, Frank; Sister Bridie;
daughters-in law; sons-in-law; nieces, nephews, grandchildren, relatives
and friends.

GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday’s GAA Lotto:
9-21-25-27. The Jackpot of €5,000 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot will

MUNSTER HURLING LEAGUE: The Kerry Senior hurlers were defeated by Clare in
round 2 of the Munster League at Austin Stack’s Park on Sunday. Score Kerry
1-15 and Clare 2-24. Philip Lucid was member of the Kerry team.
