THE PATTERN THRESHER FESTIVAL: The Festival Brochure, containing the full
Programme of Events will be launched and distributed this week end. The
committee has put careful thought over the months into presenting a lovely
variety of events which draw many threads of our traditions together to
weave an exciting exposition of a harvest Festival.

The Diaspora Day is again based on the idea of a kitchen of old, where the
bounty of nature is appreciated by all in joyful celebration of life. Mr.
Seán Quinlan will open this aspect of the Festival, a fitting tribute to a
person who established and developed the North Kerry Museum.

The committee wishes to thank all our sponsors, patrons and the Community
Department of Kerry County Council for their grant-in-aid.

INVITATION: Retired Kerry-based inspector, Patrick F. O’Donovan, will
launch his book: Stanley’s Letter, The National School System and
Inspectors in Ireland 1831 – 1922 in the headquarters of the Co. Library in
Moyderwell, Tralee this Thursday at 5.00pm.

This is a really auspicious occasion, where his unique insight into the
evolution of education in our country will be presented to the general
public. Everyone is invited to the launch.

PATTERN DAY: Pattern Day is fast approaching there will be a meeting of
our Lady’s Well and Grotto Committee on Tuesday 29th August at 8.15pm in
