CAUSEWAY CAMOGIE NEWS: Congratulations to the Causeway girls who won the
U12A Co. Camogie League on Saturday. Full-time Causeway 2-6 Cillard to 2-4.
Played in Ballyheigue in very wet & windy conditions Causeway dominated the
opening half with plenty of possession and though leading at half time by
1-3 to 1-1 they were going to have to up their game in the 2nd half. The
2nd half was a tightly contested affair with both teams displaying great
skill & determination. Eilis Gaynor(capt) playing at full back inspired her
team mates time and time again as she cleared her line. Niamh, Lauryn,
Sarah, Emma & Tara worked tirelessly throughout the match showing their
experience & abilities to help ensure Causeway’s victory. Well done to all
the girls on the panel from 1 to 22 who all played their part in ensuring

Training for U12 continues on Friday evenings at 6.30pm. The next & final
U12 competition for 2017 is the Veronca Stack Memorial Tournament on
Saturday the 14th October.
GAA LOTTO: The following numbers were drawn at last Sunday’s lotto:
4-5-10-22. The Jackpot of €6,800 was not won. Next week’s Jackpot will be
€6,850. The two €50 winners were: Marie O’Halloran, Bouleenshere and
Norrie Kennelly, Heirhill. The €25 winner was Mary Cantillon, Dirtane.
MINORS: The Ballyheigue Minor hurlers were well beaten by St. Brendans in
the Q-final of the Co Championship last Saturday. The Ballyheigue team
were very much under strength, but fair play to the players who turned up
so that we could fulfil the fixture.
PARISH MISSION: On the weekend of 13th-15th October our Parish
(Ballyheigue) will extend a very warm welcome to the Franciscan Friars
(Grey Friars) of the Renewal from Moyross. It promises to be an uplifting
weekend of prayer and reflection with Masses, talks, reconciliation,
Eucharistic Healing and Procession so please spread the word as everyone is
most warmly welcome. Please pray also that it will be a source of grace
joy and hope for all our Parishioners.

Ballyheigue & District Coursing Club a vote of sympathy was passed to
Michael Anthony Reidy and the Reidy family on the death of Patrick, and to
all other families who suffered a bereavement in the last year.
